Louise Young

I completed my undergraduate degree at the South Australian Institute of Technology in 1984 and later returned to Uni SA to complete my Masters in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy in 1990-91. During my career I have worked at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital, the Royal Adelaide Hospital, in the UK and many years in a musculoskeletal private practice setting.

I have trained in the Pilates Method of exercise and a highlight of my career was working with the English Cricket Academy bowlers when they came here for an Australian summer training camp. I used a Pilates Floor based exercise programme to develop their core trunk stability to enhance their bowling performance and help prevent typical bowler injuries.

I am passionate about exercise and motivating my clients to be actively involved in the management of their musculo-skeletal conditions. I have a keen interest in postural pain syndromes as well as the management of tendinopathy especially around the hips. Recently I have pursued my interest in osteoporosis and exercise for bone health and this has culminated in the introduction of our Osteofit Classes based on up to date, validated research from Griffith University.

In my spare time I love to cycle and walk in the beautiful Adelaide hills and coastlines and when I am able, I enjoy taking these activities further afield!
